CRITICAL ILLNESS

Financial support after life changing illness

Today, a serious illness is more likely to be life changing than life threatening – but it could still result in expensive medical treatment, loss of income for extended periods, or even early retirement.

CI insurance covers around 35 specified illnesses and pays a lump-sum benefit for each one (you can design this as a fixed amount or multiple of salary). The key rules are; pre-existing conditions aren’t covered; and beneficiaries usually have to survive 14 days after diagnosis.

This is an extremely valuable benefit, but the devil’s in the detail. We can help you to compare and interpret different insurers’ contracts so that you make a safe informed purchase for your employees.
